NEW INDOOR PUTTING STUDIO AT KILLARNEY GOLF & FISHING CLUB

Remember that the putter is the club that you will use most often in a round of golf. Therefore it make sense that it is the club that you should use most often in practice.

PUTTER LENGTH DRILL:

From 1 putter length which is approx. 35" hole 10 putts in a row. When you have achieved this try it from 2 putter length's.If you can work your way up to 10 in a row from 3 putter length's you will become an extremely good putter. When you become an expert at this add severe slopes into your practice regime.Trust me this drill will transform your scoring stats in competition.

ONE EYE DRILL:

Putt with the eye on the target side closed. This will help you to stop lifting your head prematurely.

LISTEN DRILL:

Do not look to see if the ball goes into the cup. Listen. Hear it drop.

ALIGNMENT DRILL:

Lay two clubs on the green about 6 inches apart so that they are parallel to each other. Putt from between these two clubs and check to see that your stroke is aligned at impact and steady on the back and forward stroke. Putting can be tiring on the lower back. When practicing take frequent breaks by standing tall and stretching your back muscles with gently movements that relieve the tension that can build by concentrated practice.
